CASA Holiday Wish Gifts

The holidays can be especially hard for children in foster care who are not with their families for the season. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are needing our help to spread some much needed holiday cheer their way this season.

There is a couple of differnet ways you can help.

Applebee’s in Emporia is hosting a tree of holiday wishes to give to children who are in foster care and being served by a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer. Many of these children do not receive gifts from their parents, some not even much from their foster parents. If you would like to give to these children, go out to Applebee’s and choose a wish list! Unwrapped gifts should be dropped off by December 20th to either Applebee’s or the CASA office at 25 West 5th Street.

Ellen Plumb’s bookstore in Emporia is holding a book drive for the area CASA children in Lyon and Chase counties! Each CASA child is represented by a tag on the tree with their age and gender for community members to choose from. Ellen Plumb’s will hold the books for CASA to pick up by December 20th. Please stop by and donate if you can! This is a great, inexpensive way to help during the holidays.
