State Wide Tornado Drill – Coffey County

Coffey County will participate in the state wide tornado drill on March 5th at 10am.  We will sound the sirens county wide.  Please take this opportunity to discuss with the individuals in your facilities the proper procedures if it were a real severe weather/tornadic event.  In the event of actual severe weather March 7th will be the backup date.

Storm Fury On The Plains- Iola

Allen County Emergency Management will be hosting meteorologists from the National Weather Service at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center as they give their Storm Fury on the presentation. The event will take place on Monday, March 11th from 6:30p-8:45p.  Attendees will learn storm spotting basics and safety from professionals through pictures and videos. This free event is open to anyone with an interest in severe weather. All ages are welcome.
